Novopen Echo Plus Smart Insulin Pen [NFC, xDrip+, Memory]

The NovoPen Echo® Plus is a reusable injection device intended for individual use by a diabetic patient to inject insulin into themselves. The injection device can be used with Novo Nordisk insulin piston vials and disposable needles (supplied separately).

The user can select the dose of insulin on the injection device with half-unit accuracy between 0.5 and 30 units.

The injector has an electronic memory which displays and thus helps to remember the number of units last administered and the time of injection. The memory helps to avoid omission and double administration.
As an innovation, the injector has data communication compatibility with devices supporting near-field communication (NFC). This allows the injector to transmit data from the injector on injection times and injected volumes over the past three months to a phone, computer, etc., enabling, for example, the clinician to compare insulin administration data with blood glucose readings to adjust treatment. In essence, it is a personal log of the patient’s injections. It also allows a parent to keep track of whether and how much insulin a diabetic child has taken. The data is in an easily processable format and is compatible with sensor and glucometer data. To download the data, you will need to install the corresponding app (MySugr, Glooko).

Can be used with latest versions of xDrip, easily transfers injection data to xDrip prediction system.
